MITSUI OSK Lines' (MOL) connection to Singapore dates back more than a century when the Japanese company opened a representative office here in 1891 to oversee the transport of coal between Japan and Singapore.

Fast forward 124 years and the MOL arm in the Republic - Mitsui OSK Bulk Shipping (Asia Oceania) - has on average more than 150 of its vessels making Singapore its port of call every month.

The parent company is the operator of the largest ocean shipping fleet in the world, managing some 900 vessels including dry bulk, cars, containers, tankers and LNG carriers.
