BAVARIAN sausages and Paulaner beers will soon be finding their way into more tables across Asia as German restaurant brand Brotzeit embarks on a sweeping expansion across the region.

The Singapore-based company has already opened six outlets in the Republic, and is now eyeing franchising opportunities in overseas markets to fuel further growth, revealed Brotzeit's chief executive officer Filippo Fanin. The brand was conceived in 2006 to introduce authentic German cuisine and beer in a casual dining setting to Singapore.

Brotzeit currently operates 18 outlets in seven countries. Since 2010, it has opened 12 overseas franchise outlets - Malaysia (three outlets), Vietnam, Hong Kong, China (four outlets), Philippines (two outlets) and Australia - and has plans to expand to 50 in the region by 2020, with its main focus in China and Australia.
