Creating a great place to work, grow
This year's Aon Hewitt Best Employers awards see a new category for SMEs.
BONUS payouts and salaries have never been factors that Aon Hewitt considered explicitly in picking winners for its Best Employers award, which is handed out every two years. So the best employers in the human resources consultancy firm's reckoning are not necessarily generous paymasters.
Yet there are payouts aplenty for those on the payrolls of Aon Hewitt's Best Employers in terms of a great place to work and grow. They get to enjoy what they are doing and can look forward to better prospects in climbing the corporate ladder.
When a company makes more money, employees can enjoy bigger bonuses and salaries every year. But these bonuses and pay hikes will eventually be capped by the employees' job scopes and skills. To earn even more, employees need to learn new skills and get promoted.
