THE results of the recent election might come as a shock, but viewed another way could in effect pave the way for a softer Brexit that would, to a certain extent, preserve existing ties and partnerships with the EU in exchange for access to the single market and other concessions. For example, those in favour of "Bremain" would likely view this latest development positively - as a hard Brexit from the EU without first putting some agreements in place is looking less likely at present. As for whether this affects the UK as a business destination, this will depend on Prime Minister Theresa May and her cabinet being able to move on after the bruising results and get on with the job of good governance.
