ENERGY cost, energy security and global climate change are usually abstract concepts to the man-on-the-street, unless a person is directly impacted for instance by unusually high utility bills or drastic changes in the weather.
"Ensuring energy efficiency is important not only from the perspective of optimising school resources but also in terms of educating our students on pertinent issues, which include environment conservation, as well as the role they can play in shaping the world we live in," says Vincent Tan, vice-principal (Administration), School of Science and Technology (SST).
SST is one of the winners in the Best Energy Efficiency Practices for Public Sector Agencies (Schools) category of the EENP Awards 2015.
