Flying display times make way for heavier Changi passenger traffic

[SINGAPORE] The Singapore Airshow has had to move forward its flying displays by half an hour to avoid peak hour traffic at Changi Airport, where passenger traffic continues to climb with each passing year.

"This year, we moved half an hour earlier so we're away from their heaviest slots," said Jimmy Lau, managing director of event organiser Experia Events. "In future, we may have to do the same because we may not have the luxury of having a full straight 65 minutes. We may have to do a couple of minutes in front, a couple of minutes behind, just to cater for aircraft departures."

Commercial flights are typically halted during the flying display segment so as to give the aircraft access to airspace.
