The Only Watch Charity Auction, to be held in Geneva this year, will feature over 40 unique timepieces.
THE Only Watch Charity Auction, held once every two years in Monaco since it started, will take place this year in Geneva. No reason is given for the change in venue for the auction which aims to raise money to fight muscular dystrophy, a degenerative neuromuscular disease that afflicts children and young adults. The charity has raised over 15 million euros (S$24.1 million) so far from the sale through auctions of unique timepieces donated by luxury watch brands.
It brought in a record five million plus euros at the last auction in 2013, with the sale of Patek Philippe's rare titanium chronograph accounting for nearly two-thirds of the haul.
Will Patek Philippe's Only watch this year, a grand complication in stainless steel, help to raise more money? We will know only after the auction in November.
