If the market crashed and nobody noticed, did it really crash?
Investors should have a flexible concept of "market time", depending on age and wealth

IT WAS 9.30am on a Monday and I was on the way to work. Suddenly, I was gripped by an urge to sell.
Stocks were falling all around me. The Straits Times Index (STI) was down a hundred points.
It was the crash coming after two months of painful declines. I had, unfortunately, been buying heavily in the past month or two.
