Incheon spares no effort amid competition
THE Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry is becoming increasingly competitive and to cater to the more demanding needs of MICE clients, Korea has been making continual efforts to come up with interesting new activities as well as develop its infrastructure to cater to their needs.
Lesser known MICE destinations such as Incheon have also been enhanced. Lying west of Seoul, Incheon is Korea's second biggest port city and is often associated with Korea's biggest international airport. However, Incheon plays a key role as the country's main gateway and has a rich culture that many visitors may have missed.
The city has the first and only Chinatown in Korea and it is also the main settlement of Korea's Chinese population. It is the birth place of the classic Korean Chinese dish jjajangmyeon, or black bean sauce noodles, and visitors can spot many jjajangmyeon restaurants within the Chinatown there.
