Inspiring those around her
Dorothy Chan's tireless work has helped Far East Organization to become one of the biggest property players in Singapore and the region.
AS the daughter of the late Ng Teng Fong, one of Singapore's most prominent businessmen and the founder of property group Far East Organization (FE0), Dorothy Chan has worked tirelessly over the years to build up her family's business.
Mrs Chan has been with FEO since 1969, and was presented with the company's 45-year Long Service Award in December last year. As the group's executive director, she worked by her father's side for many years on various aspects of the group's business, from sales and leasing to hotel management and general administration. Notably, she was responsible for setting up a sales and leasing administration system that supports the group's extensive property operations.
Her efforts in helping FEO become the largest private property developer in Singapore, as well as her ardent support for the arts and culture, and her service to grassroots organisations were the ingredients that led to her winning an SG50 Outstanding Chinese Business Pioneers Award.
