THE prosecution yesterday charged that Kong Hee, the founder of City Harvest Church, had set up an events-management company to do the bidding of the church, and then sought to capitalise it to facilitate the financing of the church's Crossover Project using the church's monies.
Kong, 49, had testified that he had been involved in the 2003 setting up of Xtron Productions, the company established to manage the secular singing career of his wife Sun Ho under the Crossover Project.
Prosecutor Christopher Ong tried to poke holes at the reason for setting up Xtron, citing an Aug 30, 2006 e-mail between Kong and co-accused Tan Ye Peng.
