Lessons in leadership

LIM Ee Seng shares the important lessons he's learnt about the property business in his career so far:

"I have been fortunate that in all these years, I have had the opportunity to work for highly successful bosses with excellent entrepreneurial skills, and I have been able to learn from them. From them, I was able to learn about the real estate business, but more importantly, I gained so much from observing their people management skills, hearing about their business philosophy, and watching how they face and overcome adversities and challenges.

These are all individuals respected for their integrity, who showed me what it means to 'mean what you say, and say what you mean'. So I would say that one of the biggest lessons I've learnt, is that being a CEO is not just about being a good supervisor, coach or mentor, it's about being a good leader.
