Lethal Suárez rams two nails into the English coffin

IN the build-up to the game, England hoped and prayed that Luis Suárez's name wouldn't be on Uruguay's team sheet yesterday, but the footballing gods weren't in the mood to grant them that wish.

Suárez, who underwent knee surgery just four weeks ago and was a major doubt to even make it on the plane to Brazil, was a surprise inclusion in coach Oscar Tabarez's starting line-up.

Having missed his country's defeat to Costa Rica last weekend, the 27-year-old striker wasted no time in displaying his scoring prowess and left the Three Lions on the brink of elimination from the World Cup.
