[SINGAPORE] It has been a landmark year for Marina Bay Sands (MBS) as far as its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts are concerned.
The integrated resort (IR) held its inaugural Sands for Singapore festival, a three-day charity event in August that raised $3.6 million for local non-profit organisations, beating its original $3 million target by 20 per cent.
MBS also donated heavily to numerous worthy causes over the past 12 months. It gave $1 million to the Institute of Technical Education Endowment Fund, and, more recently, $100,000 towards relief efforts in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
