More perks for firms to give staff flexi-travel options
Three new initiatives for Travel Smart Network companies
[SINGAPORE] Companies will get government funding to encourage staff to travel on public transport during off-peak periods as well as opt for alternative travel modes like cycling and walking in a bid to cut demand for peak-hour travel.
Initially, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will partner companies based near MRT stations with a staff strength of more than 200 employees. These Travel Smart Network companies will be offered three new initiatives.
The first is a Travel Smart Grant of up to S$160,000 annually for three years to co-fund the cost of initiatives which companies put in place to support the adoption of flexi-travel arrangements by their employees.
