We all know the sport of football is an unpredictable one, but few could have expected to see so much drama, controversy and action this early into the tournament.

There's even a sure-fire bet for the best goal of the World Cup, after Dutch striker Robin van Persie launched himself into the air to meet teammate Daley Blind's cross and head the ball from long range past a desperate Iker Casillas.
