[SINGAPORE] Kindergarten fees will become more affordable than ever for the needy, with lower-income families forking out as little as a dollar a month in some cases.

The government's Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme (KiFAS), which now reaches out to the lower-income groups, will also be extended to middle-income families, said Social and Family Development Minister Chan Chun Sing in Parliament yesterday.

This revision will see the monthly household income ceiling of those eligible raised to $6,000, up from $3,500 today.
