Quality products built with pride and care
Mitsubishi Electric Asia has played a role in developing infrastructure in Singapore and the rest of the region for almost 40 years
WHILE most Singaporeans probably know of Mitsubishi Electric because of their popular energy-saving air-conditioners, many may not realise that the Japanese firm has also been involved in many large-scale infrastructure projects in Singapore since the 1980s.
For instance, the company's industrial automation equipment is used to run the environmental control systems and tunnel ventilation systems in the MRT network. Its low voltage switchgears have also been widely used in HDB power distribution panels. At one time, Mitsubishi Electric supplied about 90 per cent of such systems for HDB projects.
Indeed, Singapore-based Mitsubishi Electric Asia - a subsidiary of Japan's Mitsubishi Electric Corporation - has been providing reliable, high-quality products to homes, businesses and industries in the Asia-Pacific since its establishment in 1977. The company acts as the marketing and engineering hub for the group's operations in the region, overseeing 28 Mitsubishi Electric Group companies and bases in nine countries.
