RBS to focus on Asia-UK trade finance
UK bank will offer expertise in specialist areas after major overhaul
[SINGAPORE] The UK's largest bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), expects to keep a clear focus on trade finance in this region by linking clients between Asia and the UK, a senior RBS executive in Asia told BT.
It also wants to position itself as a bank with expertise in specialist areas such as structured trade finance.
This comes amid a deep and large overhaul of the lender, and the majority of it remains owned by the UK government after a bailout six years ago.
