Re-hiring beyond 65: Perks for firms that volunteer

[SINGAPORE] Employers will be given sufficient time to adjust to the government's eventual move to raise the age ceiling for re-employment of older workers to 67 from 65, amid Singapore's labour crunch.

This follows the Manpower Ministry's (MOM) acceptance of recommendations from the Tripartite Committee on Employability of Older Workers (Tricom) to promote the extension of the age ceiling through incentives, before the legislation kicks in.

When asked, MOM said that it would introduce the legislation to re-hire workers beyond age 65 "at an appropriate time".
