Singapore businesses in Russia and Ukraine unaffected for now

[SINGAPORE] Amid tensions between the West and Russia yesterday over Russian troops stepping up their presence in Ukraine's Crimean peninsula, Singapore companies with a presence in these countries said that their operations are unaffected for now.

But many continue to watch the situation as a prolonged stand-off could deal a bigger blow to their operations there.

Russia, which mobilised its army to annex the Crimean region of Ukraine over the weekend, has remained defiant in the face of international pressure to withdraw its troops.
