Soaring to new heights
With an enviable track record of success in property investment, ZACD Investments has its sights set on becoming a billion-dollar fund
WHEN property agency SLP International tried to persuade developer Chiu Teng Enterprise to tender for Singapore's first 30-year leasehold landed factory at Penjuru, they were told to put their money where their mouth was.
Convinced that 30-year leasehold industrial properties would prove a hit, SLP's husband-and-wife founders Stanley Yeo and Kain Sim did just that by investing $165,000 of their own money into the project. Their instincts were right, and the 48 units of Penjuru Tech Hub were sold out almost immediately after its launch.
The couple's modest investment garnered returns of $700,000 in less than two years. More importantly, it spawned the birth of ZACD in 2005, which was set up as SLP's investment vehicle to co-invest in projects they were marketing.
