SRC wins award for its efforts

THE cost of energy in Singapore is one of the highest in the world. By improving energy efficiency, a direct benefit would be lowering the operating cost of the company. Every barrel of oil saved is a barrel that can be sold.

Hence, energy efficiency is also a strategic advantage in a refinery, says Aaron Quek Ser King, energy & loss control manager at Singapore Refining Company (SRC).

"Besides lowering energy cost, the reduction in energy consumption leads to lower carbon emissions and hence better air quality for the people," says Mr Quek.
