SSMC goes green in energy usage and strategic approach

A WINNER in the Excellence in Energy Management category of the EENP Awards 2015, Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Co (SSMC) started its energy efficiency journey at an early stage after the company started manufacturing here 15 years ago.

"From the various initiatives and projects, we have saved 23.9 million kWh per year, which can power up approximately 5,000 4-Room HDB flats for a year," says Collin Tan, senior director at SSMC, which is a world class manufacturer of advanced semi-conductor wafers.

Being energy efficient is the most cost effective way of addressing the challenges of energy cost, energy security and global climate change, he says.
