Strongly anchored in Singapore
Mooreast Asia is riding high on the waves of success.
SET up as a subsidiary of a Dutch company more than 20 years ago, Mooreast Asia started life as an after sales service office in Singapore for mooring and anchoring equipment. Today, the company is a fully owned Singaporean company with an expanded suite of services - from producing customised anchors to building ships.
"We aim to be the one-stop shop to provide complete mooring solutions for our marine offshore oil and gas customers," managing director Sim Koon Lam told The Business Times.
Mr Sim is instrumental in steering the company to where it is today. He set up Mooreast Pte Ltd in 1993, as the Asian subsidiary of Dutch company Vrijhof Ankers Beheer BV to support its regional sales and offer after sales services.
