Study on next batch of LNG supplies almost completed
Energy authority likely to give details later this week
[SINGAPORE] A study on Singapore's future LNG purchases - beyond that by initial buyer BG Group - is nearly completed, with regulator Energy Market Authority (EMA) set to announce plans for the next liquefied natural gas purchase tranche later this week.
This was disclosed by Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, S Iswaran, during a press conference on the sidelines of Singapore International Energy Week (Siew) yesterday.
He was giving an update on industry consultations by EMA on the way Singapore expects to source its future LNG supplies, especially with initial aggregator BG fast reaching its franchised volume of three million tonnes per annum.
