Thank you for the passion, Brasil!

I WRITE this from Rio International Airport after an amazing 12 days of football, fun and food (meat, to be more specific) on a father-son adventure at the World Cup.

Our trip spanned three cities (Rio, Sao Paolo and Belo Horizante), five games and the key tourist attractions.

As an England fan it was always going to be important to approach this trip with a broader sense of adventure so our enjoyment has been detached from any football expectation - an attitude I feel most of my countrymen shared out here - and evidenced by our fans singing "England's Going Home" to the tune of Football's Coming Home in a pointless third group game we attended in Belo against Costa Rica.
