Towards greater economic integration
President highlights economic cooperation through Europe-Asia connectivity.
KAZAKHSTAN'S joining of the Asia-Europe Meeting (Asem) earlier this year is a big step in helping to integrate the country with the rest of the global economy.
Officially joining the key forum for dialogue and cooperation between the two continents at the 10th Asem Summit in Milan, Kazkhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed an audience of more than 50 heads of state and government.
Speaking at the plenary session, Mr Nazarbayev emphasized the promotion of financial and economic cooperation through enhanced Europe-Asia connectivity. The search for common answers to today's challenges and threats requires a shared European and Asian agenda, he said.
