Watches for 2016 Olympics

OMEGA has continued to be the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games for the 27th time in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. As the official timekeeper of the world's greatest sports event, a role it has played since 1932, Omega has also launched special watch models in limited editions to celebrate the Olympics. These have proved to be popular and quickly snapped up by buyers. We present a few of the special models Omega presented to celebrate the Rio Olympics .

The wave pattern on the lacquered black dial is inspired by the mosaic design on the sidewalks of Copacabana, one of Rio's famous beaches. The back of the stainless steel case is stamped the "Rio 2016" logo and an individual Limited Edition number.

On the matt black dial is a 30-minute recorder at 3 o'clock, a 12-hour recorder at 6 o'clock and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock. The sub dials are decorated with a bronze ring, yellow gold ring and silver ring respectively - this recalls the medals awarded to Olympic Games champions.

The case-back is stamped with the Rio logo and engraved with "Si14", "Column Wheel" and the limited edition number - the engravings indicating the watch is a higher-end column wheel chronograph and the movement is fitted with a superior Si14 silicon balance spring.
