DAIM Zainuddin, who served twice as finance minister during Mahathir Mohamad's 22-year administration, has said government-owned fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) should not keep money overseas, according to Malaysian daily The Star.
"The fear by most people is that this is too secretive. The board should come out and explain. Why money should be put in Cayman Islands?" he asked.
