86-year-old woman linked to TTSH cluster dies of Covid-19 complications at KTPH

[SINGAPORE] An 86 year-old Singaporean woman died of complications from Covid-19 on Monday (June 7).

The woman - called case number 62680 by MOH - was a contact of a patient at Ward 9D at Tan Tock Seng Hospital from April 20 to April 22.

The ward was at the centre of a large coronavirus cluster.

She was confirmed to have the virus on April 30, when she was warded at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for an unrelated medical condition, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a release on Tuesday (June 8).

She had not been vaccinated, and had a history of diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, hypertension and hypothyroidism.

Khoo Teck Puat Hospital has contacted her family and is extending assistance to them, said MOH.

MOH also said there were three new Covid-19 cases in the community reported on Tuesday, one linked and two which are currently unlinked.

One of the unlinked cases is a 35-year-old retail assistant at a Four Leaves outlet in Ion Orchard and Ang Mo Kio Hub.

The other is a 54-year-old vessel manager at NYK Ship management. He was fully vaccinated.

The linked case is an asymptomatic resident of MINDSville @ Napiri.

There was one unlinked case from a migrant workers' dormitory, MOH added.

He is a 31-year-old plumber and pipe fitter employed by Isogo Marine Engineering who lives in Avery Lodge at 2D, Jalan Papan.

There were also five imported cases that had been placed on stay-home notice on arrival in Singapore, said the ministry. Two of them are Singaporeans or permanent residents.

This makes a total of nine new coronavirus cases confirmed on Tuesday.

It is the lowest daily number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore since March 17, when there were also nine cases.

The new cases take Singapore's total tally to 62,219.
