ADB: Asia needs to boost human productivity to maintain competitiveness

FOR all the past talk of the Asian "economic miracle", the reality now is that the region is losing ground in terms of productivity growth, with key economies such as China, India and Indonesia slowing down, says the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Investment in physical capital remains generally high in Asia, but is not matched by investment in human capital, which needs a boost if the region is to maintain global competitiveness, said the annual review by the bank's Independent Evaluation division.
