SINGAPORE Press Holdings chief executive officer Alan Chan Heng Loon will be appointed chairman of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA) with effect from April 1, 2016, the Ministry of Transport announced on Tuesday.
Mr Chan succeeds Michael Lim Choo San, who steps down as chairman of LTA after 14 years on March 31.
Under Mr Lim's stewardship, LTA launched the Land Transport Master Plan in 2008 (and updated it in 2013), which sets out Singapore's land transport strategies, the ministry said in a statement.
Mr Lim has been a champion of LTA's transformation into a commuter-centric organisation. With his guidance and encouragement, LTA fostered greater public engagement and responsiveness towards customers by working closely with key stakeholders such as grassroots leaders and local residents to develop land transport solutions that meet diverse needs, it said.
