Application for the two certificates needed to run for presidency opens on June 1
Singapore
THE application process to obtain the two certificates needed to run in Singapore's next Presidential elections begins on Thursday, with the deadline being the fifth day after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong issues the writ of election some time in August.
Polls for the upcoming election - the first to be reserved exclusively for those from the Malay community - will take place in September, assuming the Presidential Elections Committee (PEC) gives the green light to at least two candidates.
