FOREIGN direct investments (FDI) flowing into Asean rose to more than US$122 billion (S$158 billion) last year, on a par with the flow into China for the first time since 1993, said the Asean Investment Report 2013-2014 released on Tuesday.
The latest increase, from US$114 billion in 2012, raised the inward FDI stock to US$1.6 trillion, noted the report by Asean and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Most Asean 10-member states posted stronger inflows in 2013; only two recorded marginal declines.
