FACING global economic headwinds arising from ongoing US-China tensions and the disruption of global supply chains caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Asean is at a historic take-off point towards economic integration.
Speaking at the Bank of Singapore's Beyond 2022: New Horizons conference on Tuesday (Jan 11), a panel of former leaders from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand emphasised the need for the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) bloc to work towards integrating their economies and enhancing intra-regional trade.
