Disruption key to growth for Lenskart in Indonesia
IS INDONESIA'S eyewear industry ripe for disruption? India-headquartered eyewear company Lenskart certainly thinks so, and it is betting big that South-east Asia's largest digital economy is more than ready for its omnichannel 3D augmented reality technology.
Having expanded rapidly in Singapore, Lenskart is now eyeing Indonesia's fast-growing, tech-savvy middle class, said Anantha Nayak, the company's chief business officer for South-east Asia.
"Indonesia is ripe for disruption and we want to enable consumers to have greater choice through technology," he said in an interview with The Business Times. "Mobility is a challenge, so people are far more open to buying online."
