INDONESIA will impose anti-dumping duties on ceramic tile imports from China starting on Oct 24, according to a finance ministry regulation issued this week.

The duties will be introduced after an investigation showed “there was dumping on ceramic tile products that came from China, causing losses to domestic industries,” said the ministry.

The duties, effective for five years, will be imposed on around 30 companies, with the rate ranging from about 13,446 rupiah (S$1.1349) per square metre to 94,544 rupiah per square metre.

Earlier this month, Indonesia also imposed anti-dumping duties on some flat-rolled iron products from China, South Korea, and Taiwan. REUTERS
