Indonesia’s EV push faces bumpy road as consumers hesitate despite subsidies

MORE than six months after the Indonesian government introduced financial subsidies for those looking to buy electric motorcycles, the take-up rate has been far from stellar.
According to latest figures from the Ministry of Industry, only 836 people have received the subsidy – a drop in the ocean, given that this year’s quota is for as many as 200,000 electric two-wheelers.
