Malaysia’s October exports rise 15.7% y/y, above forecast

    [KUALA LUMPUR] Malaysia‘s exports rose 15.7 per cent in October, above expectations, government data showed on Wednesday.

    October’s exports had been expected to grow 8.5 per cent, according to economists polled by Reuters. Imports in October grew 11.2 per cent from a year earlier, data from the trade ministry showed, above the poll forecast of a 6 per cent increase. 

    Malaysia recorded a trade surplus of RM19 billion (S$6 billion) in October, compared to the poll forecast of RM16.3 billion. REUTERS
