Malaysia’s Petronas to supply gas to Sabah Electricity
MALAYSIA’S Petronas will supply gas to Sabah Electricity for power generation in the regions of Sabah and Labuan, the state-owned energy firm said on Tuesday (Oct 1).
Under a five-year agreement, Petronas, through Malaysia Petroleum Management, will continue to supply 16 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to Sabah Electricity.
The deal, which was initially signed in late June, is part of Petronas’ strategy to drive growth through sustainable energy initiatives.
“This agreement is key to meeting the state’s (Sabah) energy demands with reliable and sustainable solutions,” Ir Ts Mohd Yaakob Jaafar, CEO of Sabah Electricity, said in a statement. REUTERS
