Rising force: How Asian-American voters could shape US elections
Some 15 million Asian Americans are eligible to vote, a growing demographic that could sway the election, especially in key battleground states
ASIAN-AMERICAN voters have grown in influence in the United States, with the number of eligible voters increasing by 15 per cent, or about two million, in the past four years, according to the Pew Research Centre.
In 2020, this group of voters, especially those voting for the very first time, in key battleground states, was crucial to President Joe Biden’s victory.
This November, about 15 million Asian Americans are eligible to vote, representing about 6 per cent of all eligible voters in the US.
