[SINGAPORE, JAKARTA, KUALA LUMPUR, HO CHI MINH] After much blood and sweat by South-east Asian policymakers in their talks with Washington to soften the sharp blow of US President Donald Trump’s steep tariff hikes on their economies, the new rates took effect on Aug 7.
