    [BANGKOK] Thailand’s Cabinet has approved a consumer subsidy scheme supporting about 43 million people, the finance ministry said on Tuesday (May 19), part of the government’s efforts to alleviate the impact of the Middle East war.

    The scheme will subsidise 60 per cent of the prices of certain consumer goods.

    The government will offer 1,000 baht (S$39.23) per person per month from June to September. REUTERS
