Asia Future Summit exclusive: Business leaders to reveal playbook on how firms can leverage, lead Asia’s charge

[SINGAPORE] Attendees of the upcoming Asia Future Summit can expect to be treated to a panel featuring top leaders of a global cloud giant, a tech behemoth and one of South-east Asia’s largest lenders – who will discuss the business opportunities in Asia’s ascent.

Moderated by the deputy news editor of The Business Times, Anita Gabriel, the discussion titled “Opportunities and challenges in a volatile era” to be held on Thursday (Oct 9) will feature Tan Teck Long, OCBC Group’s deputy chief executive; Jeff Johnson, Amazon Web Services (AWS) managing director for Asean; and Gang Ye, Sea’s chief operating officer and co-founder.

The trio will delve into major shifts shaping the future, including pushing the artificial-intelligence needle from hype to hard results, and transforming data sovereignty into trusted ecosystems that can draw in data-centre dollars.

The industry veterans will also tackle energy transition – how affordable, reliable power now decides where platforms grow, factories land and investors place their bets.

The big question is: Can Asia, with China’s scale and Asean’s growing clout, turn its swings into long-term strength, and move from a fast adopter to a rule-setter in a re-globalising world?
