BUSINESSES are responding well to Singapore's Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2020 plan, under which local enterprises, in particular, have been tying up with A*Star for more research and development (R&D) projects.

A*Star chairman Lim Chuan Poh said on Friday that the number of R&D projects in which the government agency collaborated with the private sector jumped 20 per cent to 2,100 between FY2016 and the year ending March 2018. One in three projects were with local enterprises.
