Australia goods trade surplus narrows to A$4.6 billion in Sept
AUSTRALIA’S surplus on trade goods narrowed in September driven by a drop in coal and liquefied natural gas exports while fuel imports also fell, data showed on Thursday.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported the balance on goods held at A$4.609 billion (S$4 billion), compared with a surplus of A$5.284 billion in August and lower than market forecasts of A$5.5 billion.
Exports fell 4.3 per cent from a month earlier due to a drop in coal and liquefied natural gas shipments. Imports also decreased 3.1 per cent driven by fuels and lubricants. REUTERS
