AUSTRALIA is hosting the largest gathering of world leaders in its history this weekend, and it is spending over A$100 million (S$112.5 million) just on security alone to protect them around the clock.
Among the top ignitaries attending the annual G-20 Summit in Brisbane are United States President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Also heading Down Under are more than 7,600 officials, delegates and journalists.
