Australia's New South Wales reports record daily Covid-19 cases
[SYDNEY] Australia's New South Wales state reported record new Covid-19 infections for a second straight day on Thursday, as total cases in the latest outbreak from the highly infectious Delta strain neared 10,000.
A total of 681 locally acquired cases were detected, most of them in state capital Sydney, exceeding the previous daily high of 633 set on Wednesday. Authorities also reported one new death from the virus.
