Bank of Korea chief says decision to keep rates steady was not unanimous
[SEOUL] Voting in the Bank of Korea's monetary policy board's decision to keep interest rates unchanged at 1.50 per cent in October was not unanimous, Governor Lee Ju Yeol told a news conference after the meeting on Thursday.
Lee Il Houng and Koh Seung Beom were two dissenters to Thursday's decision to hold the policy rate unchanged in a 5-2 vote, Mr Lee said.
The BOK held interest rates steady for a seventh straight month on Thursday, as it assessed new signs of softness in the economy and the potential fallout from global trade frictions.
